Introduce Yourself : Screenwriter in Australia by Sean Francis Ellis

Sean Francis Ellis

Screenwriter in Australia

Hello everyone,

I'm a screenwriter based in Australia, and have been a member of Stage 32 for over 10 years.  It's a terrific community and offers amazing services to filmmakers.

This month, I completed another draft of a screenplay I've developed over several years, a creature feature set in the Yukon.  Over a year ago, I worked with a consultant (from Script Reader Pro), who helped me develop an outline for a new version of the script, based on coverage and feedback from numerous pitches and producer consultations.  Several drafts later, I've had encouraging feedback from professionals I found on Stage 32, and others I met when I visited Los Angeles, which was a much-needed vacation and a chance to network and meet up with old friends.  I look forward to another trip back later this year, and will be pitching the new version of my script on Stage 32, soon.

I'm hoping to connect with producers, directors or managers, ideally in the US, Australia or Canada, seeking character-driven Horror (creature-feature), Thriller or Action-Adventure features in the $10 to $20 million range.  My screenplay features First Nations characters and a unique, mythical creature, with a story set in the Yukon (present day and 18th Century).  http://www.seanfrancisellis.com/projects

Congratulations on finishing another draft, Sean Francis Ellis!

"character-driven Horror (creature-feature), Thriller or Action-Adventure features in the $10 to $20 million range." Did you submit to Open Writing Assignments 0111 and 0112? Your Action-Adventure script should have a monster character and strong world building for OWA 0111 though.

Hi Sean Francis Ellis! Thanks for sharing and congrats on all your success so far. I'm so glad that Stage 32 has been a great part of your journey. I don't know if you saw, but there's an exec specifically interested in action projects over $10mm, thought you might want to check him out -- https://www.stage32.com/happy-writers/pitch-sessions/Pitch-David-Harris-...

Thanks Maurice and Emily. I've been having problems rejoining the Writer's Room and have emailed Stage 32. Hopefully I'll be able to access Open Writing Assignments again soon. And I'll certainly pitch David Harris once I've updated my pitch for the new draft. Thanks for the tips! I really appreciate it. :)
