Hi Guys!! Meanwhile, I have a whole question for you. I have pith decks, story bibles, and all related materials available. When applying for various creative opportunities, I'm often asked for writing samples. In the space of a screenwriter, what does that look like and entail? Pilot pages, pitch deck content? What do I showcase in a writing sample pdf?

Hey, J.J. Allen. Sometimes I send an entire script as a writing sample. Sometimes I only send a few pages. The producer, director, production company, etc. will let you know how many pages to send. When I send a pitch deck, treatment, or show bible, I send the entire thing.

Hi J.J. Allen! Great question! If someone asks for a writing sample, then send them your script! This usually comes up with reps and people hiring for writing work. They don't have to read the whole thing, but your scripts are your samples. And then if they're looking for a specific project materials. And I would always send docs in .PDF since they can't change what's written but can leave notes if they want. Happy to help you pick which execs to submit your samples to if you shoot me an email at success@stage32.com
You're welcome, J.J.
