Screenwriting : Some Success! by David Webbley

Some Success!

Hi everyone, am really pleased to say that I have had some success with my grounded Sci-Fi script 'Oblivescence' over the past few months - getting to the Quarter Finals in the ScreenCraft Sci-Fi & Fantasy Feature Competition and the Emerging Writers Action & Adventure Feature Competition. It's currently a Semi-Finalist in the Creative Screenwriter Feature Competition and am keeping my fingers crossed it goes further. Unfortunately I missed the Stage 32 Sci-Fi competition submission but have just sent in my new horror feature, 'Don't Leave Me' into the Stage 32 'Search for New Blood' competition. Best of luck to all the writers in the competitions you submit to!

Awesome David Webbley! Big congrats. What's next for 'Oblivescence' ?

Thanks for the messages; not sure what's next re Oblivescence - had some good notes back but due to its 30-50m budget, it's a tough sell to a producer; that's why I have written a few low budget horror features, using what I have learnt over the past few years and focusing on smaller worlds; although am thinking about turning Oblivescence into a book as am hearing on different groups about getting original IP created and if successful, aligning it with the script - may interest Managers / Producer more. Not sure if anyone else has experience with turning their script into a novel?
