Hello there folks!
A few days ago I had posted on the Lounge Wall here, asking for advice about writing my first feature. I just wanted to thank everyone who commented and gave such diverse and fantastic advice in jumping over such a massive hurdle! And since I didn't really do it last time, I'd like to also introduce myself properly!
My name is Brett Allen, I'm in my final year as a radio, television & film major at Rowan University, and I'm looking to enter the film industry as a writer and actor! Since 2021, I've been a co-runner of Writers' Room (a subsidiary of Rowan's film club, Cinema Workshop), and I can't put into words how great of an experience it has been to act as a script consultant and friend to all of those who bring in their stories, ideas and scripts. I can't stress enough how many talented people I've met within Cinema Workshop and Writers' Room and how grateful I am to be helping them bring out their greatest storytelling abilities, whether it be through writing, acting, or production of our films.
In general, I am incredibly excited to get my start in such a dynamic industry, and I'm thankful for the people in my immediate life and on this platform who give such resounding encouragement and help in making it possible. The feature I'm writing is a murder mystery for a screenwriting class this semester, and I'll be sure to post it onto here once it is done. Thank you to everyone again who commented on my first post and I hope to interact with more of you soon. Take care and have a great rest of your day!

Hey, Brett Allen. Welcome to Stage 32. Murder Mysteries are some of my favorite movies to watch. Have you read the "Knives Out" or "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery" script?

Leonardo Ramirez Thank you! As soon as I get out of university, I want to try and find opportunities around the Tri-state area for writing and acting. I've made a lot of great connections at my film club as well as on this website, and I foresee both worlds culminating in plenty of opportunities.

Maurice Vaughan I did start reading the "Knives Out" script recently! I've also been reading "Murder on the Orient Express" again after so long. I've been looking into other mystery films to watch and really soak in what ways I can improve what I do and don't have on paper.
