I'm Laurie Woodward and am thrilled to be part of a creative community. Last weekend I was a speaker at the Central Coast Writers Conference and was able to join other writers and reaffirm my belief that everyone has a magical place within them that is absolutely unique. For some, it’s painting, or acting, while others, like me, find joy in dance and storytelling. Whatever project I’m working on, I believe it’s my job to honor that wondrous place inside us all where everything else fades away. We are no longer corporeal but imagination. And when we pass on that inspiration to children, amazing things happen.
I’m a screenwriter and was a collaborator on the award-winning anti-bullying film, Resolutions. I have received many awards and grants for my work as a peace consultant helping educate kids on how to stop bullying, promote peace, and avoid conflicts. As an author my works include Finding Joy, the fantasy series: The Artania Chronicles, the middle grade Forest Secrets, as well as the co-writing the biography Dean and JoJo: The Dolphin Legacy . My poetry has been published in multiple journals and anthologies. More about my work can be found at

Hi Laurie Woodward - glad you're with us on Stage 32. I love this quote, "And when we pass on that inspiration to children, amazing things happen." I'm starting to see that with my daughter who now wants to go into acting. Congratulations on all of your work!
