I posted this on the Intro Wall, but relevant here too! I am primarily a film composer working on film and advertising, but I was asked to join an audio team to chop/edit/rearrange/deliver playable stems from popular songs to be used in the latest chapter of Fortnite, for a mode called Jam Stage in Fortnite Festival. This mode allows users to jam with others on different instruments and even mash songs together. It was a long, meticulous job with hundreds of hours of work, but I’m so excited to see the results and hear feedback! I learned some new tools and tricks in audio editing that already has had a huge impact on my workflow for composing music, in addition to finally learn how to Melodyne audio (we were not using it to correct anyone’s pitch, but had to flip every harmonic/melodic stem to the parallel key, which was hilarious every time, but necessary to allow the gameplay engine to mash songs together (AI is not there yet to do that work, I guess). Go check it out and the Festival lineup of playable songs for this release!

Still a cool piece of history to be involved in. Probably a fun gig and you pick up a few editing chops to boot. Yet another hat to wear!! lol

I just watched some videos of Jam Stage, Chris Joye. It looks like a fun mode. A video I watched has a Gangnam Style remix. It's a great remix. One of the characters in the video is a Ninja Turtle. Haha
