Despite my attempts at writing in the past I've still just begun to write. I've spent most of my time writing novels that could be adapted. I'm always looking to people for advice and I've been blessed to have a friend in Hollywood give me support in what I do. What I lack is a local way to talk to people given where I live is not the best of climates for the film industry. Sure we have moves based around here but they are still filmed in North Carolina most of the time, just look at the Mothman Prophecies and October Sky.
What I'm hoping to look for is a community where I can engage and grow from. I would love to share my work and see where I could improve.

You could share your work in the Your Stage Lounge (www.stage32.com/lounge/promotion) and on Your Wall, Matthew D Rhodes. An online community can be just as effective as an in-person community.
As for an in-person community, you could set up a Stage 32 Meetup in your area (www.stage32.com/meetups).
