Introduce Yourself : Member Since 2018 by Karina Alcantar

Hi everyone, I know it's been a long time since I last posted on here, but I am happy to tell you I am fully back on STAGE 32! I am ready to Network and Connect with all the creatives and our vibrant community of individuals who have a passion for storytelling or any aspect in the Entertainment Industry. If you don't know who I am, my name is Karina, I am from California. I have wanted to become a filmmaker ever since I was little. It was always this need in me to tell stories. At the age of 14, I begged my parents to buy me a digital camcorder and they did for my birthday. I used that camcorder for so many years, and so many memories were captured on it too. When I got to college I knew I wanted to do this for a living. I wanted to be a director and write my own stories as well. I graduated last year from a cal state university in the Television Production Program. I learned so much from being online to in person. The tools and skills I acquired there has shaped and sharpened my skills to this day. But just because I went to film school doesn't mean I learned everything there is to know about filmmaking. There is still so much to learn and experience. That is why I am on here today, because I want you all to know. That we are all on this journey together. We all want to tell stories, and when it comes to filmmaking it takes a whole village to make it. We all learn from one another and grow together. That is why I wanted to share with you all that I am working on writing my first feature. It has been a long process and a lot of prep work put into it. So no matter what it is you want to do, IT IS NEVER TO LATE TO START :).
