Fanfiction Script/movie

Hello to all,

I want to get a general perspective or opinion on Fanfiction scripts/movies; there have been many professional works of different IPs that have been debuting or showing on social video platforms. Is it easier to write and produce a fanfiction project legally because it is not a product for profit but a project for entertainment and artistic values?

Opinions are weclomed.

Interesting question Drew Anderson! I think it's a good way to get noticed for sure. And if you give it an original slant while also existing in the world of the IP, it could help provide a look at your ability to execute familiar material while also being interesting.

If you make it well, it definitely can be a solid way to grab some attention (including cease and desists from the IP owner). So if you're prepared to ride that wave and just want to do it for the clout, you can certainly snag eyeballs from the built in audiences with a buzzy piece of content around IP they love.
