"Yeah-- I'm thinking I'm back!" ~ J. Wick

Hello, Fellow Creatives! I've taken some serious time off from the lounge and look forward to connecting again with many of you and new Folks, too. Over the last couple of years, I've buckled down and focused on my writing, and it's starting to pay dividends. I can't wait to hear about your gains either during this time. Happy Monday!

Maurice Vaughan

Stephen Barber Welcome back, John Wick. Great to meet you. I've been working on ghostwriting jobs, spec scripts, and pitch deck jobs. I finished Stage 32's November Write Club over the weekend. I wrote 90 pages in a Holiday Horror feature script, outlined/wrote a Horror Comedy short script, and outlined a Horror/Action/Zombie feature script. What have you been working on?

Stephen Barber

Outstanding work! Wow. You should be proud of yourself. Sounds like your self-motivation is functioning just right, Maurice. I've been rewriting some pilots I've had in the drawer for some time, and getting two new ones up and off the ground. I've got two scripts (pilots) in Stage 32's Thriller/Action contest, and working on a feature - one day at a time.

Ashraf Nahlous

Welcome back, Stephen! Congrats on your hard work starting to pay dividends

Maurice Vaughan

Thanks, Stephen Barber. Self-motivation and Stage 32 motivation. Congratulations on the progress with your pilots! Hope your pilots advance in the contest! Yeah, one day at a time. What genre is your feature?

Stephen Barber

Thank you! Thriller.

Eric Weber

I'm also looking to connect with people. Perhaps in person.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Stephen Barber. Cool. I love watching Thrillers. I'm watching a Thriller limited series on Netflix. The Madness. I'm on the last two episodes. Incredible series!

I read your profile bio. Congratulations on BY NOBLE MEANS being a Finalist and your features and pilots being "Recommended"!

You said on your profile you’re looking for a manager and a partner (I’m guessing a writing partner). Have you thought about pitching to managers through Stage 32’s Pitch Sessions (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/pitch-sessions)? The main purpose of the Pitch Sessions is to get feedback to improve your pitch, but sometimes the executives, managers, etc. will request scripts, sign writers, etc. (www.stage32.com/scriptservices/success-stories).

And if you’re looking for a writing partner, you could make a post on the Job Board (www.stage32.com/find-jobs).

Stephen Barber

Maurice- thank you. I'm looking forward to starting The Madness soon. And thanks for the kudos. Likewise, Sir. As for "partner," I'm primarily interested in that relationship with a Manager, but I thank you for your suggestions anyhow. As far as pitch sessions go, I'll look more into those eventually. I think I've thrown enough money towards my writing this year, but I'm poised to have quite the collection in my que to begin 2025. Until then, I'm just grateful to be here.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Stephen Barber. I think you're gonna really like The Madness. I picked up some tips for writing Thrillers from the series. Hope you get a manager and looking forward to talking more on here!

Sydney S

I am really happy for you Stephen, that your hard work and focus is paying off! Keep up the good work! Have a wonderful week ahead!

Stephen Barber

Thank you, Sydney! You as well.
