I once went on a Prom date with the Mafia Don's niece - nothing came of it, but I always though if I embellished the story a bit . . . say with a jewelry heist . . . it would make an interesting screenplay. Sure enough MAFIA PROM DATE recently won an award at the DC After Dark Film Festival, my third such award this year. I guess they are right when suggesting you should write what you know.
