I’ve seen some movies where actors overacted. The overacting took me out of the movies. What are some tips actors can use to keep from overacting?

Sometimes I think it's the writing that's the problem Maurice Vaughan

I think so too, Suzanne Bronson. Maybe the writer tried too hard to show an emotional moment. I like to do a Visualize Rewrite. It's where I go through a script, visualizing the action and dialogue in scenes. I catch potential overacting moments that way.
