Searching for writers and voice actors for animation collaborations

Hi there, I'm Hamish (Popplehoop) from Sydney Australia.

I'm a veteran animator (for TV, corporate, science and academia), looking for opportunities to produce animations and tell stories in my naturally absurdist style, for entertainment purposes, with the intent to ideally develop a pilot for a TV series. I have a few ideas on the go, mostly satirical and surreal skits about technology and society. But as most of you will know, these creative ventures require a lot of time, and its easy to lose momentum in between "bread and butter" jobs. So I'm eager to meet like minded creatives to explore ongoing opportunities with.

I have written many concepts and synopses myself, but my weak spots are writing dialogue (scripts) and voice acting - two essential components of animation. As my style is particularly surreal, slapstick and kooky, I need to find collaborators who share a similar sense of humour and absurdity.

Here are a few examples of work I have created since 2000.

Popplehoop Pop - AI animation I recently made for a competition

Mythbusters snippets - animations I made for the pop science sensation on Discovery Channel 15 years ago.

Schnezel Bronson - a kids cartoon I made 25 YEARS AGO! for ABC TV

Plus I have loads more deranged snippets and rough ideas on my hard drive.

If you'd like to chat about creative ideas free to message me at popplehoop2@gmail or through this channel.

Thanks!

Hamish

Hi, Hamish Gilbert. I’m a Stage 32 Lounge Moderator. I wanted to let you know I moved your post from the Acting Lounge to the Your Stage Lounge. The Acting Lounge isn’t the place to find writers and voice actors for projects. It’s a place to discuss acting, share content about acting (like videos and articles), interact with actors/actresses/voice actors/casting directors, and offer tips/advice on technique, audition strategies, headshots, and all other topics related to acting.

I also moved your posts from the Screenwriting Lounge and Animation Lounge for the same reason. Also, Stage 32 doesn't want members posting the same thing in different main Lounges on the same day because it can clog up the Lounges and other members’ posts won’t be seen.

Let me know if you have any questions.

You could make a post on the Job Board (www.stage32.com/find-jobs).

And here's a blog that could help you find collaborators: www.stage32.com/blog/the-importance-of-community-and-collaboration-in-th...
