Introduce Yourself : Discouraged Creative by Carmealette Smith

Carmealette Smith

Discouraged Creative

With my YouTube videos destroyed, unjustly, Twitter account deleted & occasional Facebook suspensions. As I write this, I am incredibly hurt & frustrated. Being a 63 year-old, African-American woman, trying to save my ethnic & our overall human race:

"...that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will." ((2 Timothy 2:26)

With his, "...steal and kill and destroy." (John 10:10) All over T.V., movies, video games & Rap, that has ADDICTED Americans to LOVING & DOING, "...the works of the devil." (1 John 3:8) Throughout this nation, specifically & the world, in general. Continuously worsening over the past 60 years & counting!!

I have ideas for T.V. Reality Shows, dramas & movies, that will change this paradigm. So that we can STOP following our, "... enemy the devil..." (1 Peter 5:8) into his sadistic, cesspool of violence. Ruining our human condition, here. Then having the immortal, "...souls..." (Ezekiel 18:4) of his followers, hereafter, going: "...to hell, to the unquenchable fire." (Mark 9:43) SOMEBODY, PLEASE HELP ME, TO HELP US ALL!!

Hi, Carmealette Smith. It's great to meet you. Sorry you're going through that. I suggest getting your ideas into script form so you can pitch them, whether learning how to write scripts and TV pilots or hiring someone to.

If you want to learn yourself, here's an outline template I made for feature scripts that might help you outline: www.stage32.com/profile/811418/Screenplay/Outline-Template-for-Feature-S...

I also suggest watching this webinar: "Outlining Your Feature Screenplay" (www.stage32.com/webinars/Outlining-Your-Feature-Screenplay&affid=blog2022). It'll give you more information about outlining scripts.

Stage 32 also has other Screenwriting Education (www.stage32.com/education/search?term=screenwriting) and Screenwriting Blogs (www.stage32.com/blog/tags/screenwriting-25) that can help you learn how to write a script.

And reading scripts is a great way to learn how to write a script. You can download scripts here:

www.stage32.com/loglines

www.nyfa.edu/student-resources/10-great-websites-download-movie-scripts

Some of those scripts are production scripts, so they have things that spec scripts (like your scripts would be) don't have, like scene numbers and shots such as the CUT TO shot. Some writers use shots in spec scripts though.

If you want to hire someone to turn your ideas into scripts, you could make a post on the Job Board (www.stage32.com/find-jobs).

If you have any questions about any of this, let me know.

Hey, Carmealette Smith! I hear ya. It's a hard time to be a creative, but it's also the best time to be a creative. I heard someone once say, "The opposite of depression isn't joy - it's expression." So, express it all! Journaling, scripting, producing - get it out of your head and on the page, and then you can decide what to do with it. Just because you need to write it doesn't mean it needs to be read. But hopefully through the process you'll find some stuff that is meant to be read.

My two cents? Write out all the ideas you want to work on, and choose ONE you can move forward with right now. Let the choice be driven by your heart because logic cannot replace energy, and excitement is energy.

Other than that, don't forget to ask questions or commiserate about your screenwriting ventures in the Screenwriting Lounge! It's a great, free resource: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting
