Introduce Yourself : Women's Contemporary Fiction Author - Hello! by Sarah Foulke

Women's Contemporary Fiction Author - Hello!

Introducing myself... I just found Stage 32 about a month ago, through an author friend. It's exciting to be in a group with so many other creative individuals!

I am a novelist. I primarily write women's contemporary fiction and have one 5-part series completed and published, and am working on my second series currently (book 1 is published, book 2 will hopefully be published this summer). I have also written a 2-part sci-fi series and two stand-alone fiction novels.

I would love to see my books get on TV or film. I've been told my sci-fi series would make a great film. And my women's contemporary fiction series are akin to what you'd find on the Hallmark channel, for example. Fun, light, relatable. Though how to take the next step is beyond me at the moment. I'm more than open for any feedback or advice on that!

Hopefully I'll get to further meet many of you here on this platform!

Hi Sarah Foulke! I’m Ashley, Head of Community here at Stage 32. It’s wonderful to have you with us, and I’m so glad your friend introduced you to the platform! Your publishing accomplishments are incredible, and it’s exciting that you’re now exploring the world of TV and film. Adapting your work for the screen is a big step, but you’re in the right place to start making those connections and learning the process.

I’d recommend heading over to the Screenwriting Lounge to begin networking with writers and screenwriters who are either adapting books themselves or have experience navigating that transition: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting

And with all the experience you’ve gained through publishing, I know others would benefit from your perspective in the Authoring & Playwriting Lounge—whether it’s tips on writing a series, managing a launch, or building a readership: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/playwriting

If you’re looking for more tailored guidance, I also suggest reaching out to our Success Team at Success@Stage32.com. Let them know about your goals, and they can help point you toward managers, execs, or resources that align with your work.

And if you’re interested in developing your adaptation skills and pitching strategy, our Writer’s Room is a great place for that. You can try it out with a free month here: https://www.stage32.com/writers-room/plans-vip

So glad you’re here! I'm excited to see what’s next for you and your stories!

You're welcome, Sarah Foulke.

I can do a book to screeenplay coversion for you. I requested an add.

Sarah Foulke

Jon Shallit , please forgive my ignorance, but I assume you do that for an upfront fee? Or do you do it on contract, for a share of any royalties that may result if the screenplay is picked up by a studio?

Crystal Hickerson

Welcome Sarah! I am a novelist myself. I would love for my characters to come to life. May have to learn how to write screenplays. LOL

Jon Shallit

Up front in increments, but VERY reasonable. My agent arranges these things. We can talk if you want. I sent my info. Tell me what books you want converted. I am easy to work with.
