Screenwriting : Where to submit? by Amir Harris-Cushnie

Amir Harris-Cushnie

Where to submit?

I'm relatively new here, and I had just finished my first feature script, I feel as if I finally made something worth submitting and wondered if anyone knew where I could submit it to get at least a little bit of exposure.

Maurice Vaughan

Welcome to the community, Amir Harris-Cushnie. Stage 32 had a live Community Open House the other week. You can watch the recording here (www.stage32.com/education/products/stage-32-community-open-house-webcast). It'll help you navigate Stage 32 and connect with creatives and industry professionals.

Stage 32 also has a blog about navigating the platform and making connections: www.stage32.com/blog/how-to-successfully-navigate-the-stage-32-platform-...

I suggest adding more info to your profile bio. It’ll help you build relationships/network on here. You could add things to your bio like why you became a screenwriter, your accomplishments, your goals, and what movies and shows you like.

Congratulations on finishing your first feature script! What genre(s) is it?

Amir Harris-Cushnie

Thanks for your insight! My genre is a blend of Thriller/Horror and Action, but the main one I went for was Thriller.

Göran Johansson

Or do as I do. Upload your script in your profile.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Amir Harris-Cushnie. I second what Göran Johansson said about uploading your script to your profile.

And there are some Open Writing Assignments for Thriller scripts and Horror scripts in Stage 32's Writers' Room right now. Here's a post that explains what a Stage 32 OWA is: www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting/What-is-an-OWA

You have to be a Writers' Room member to submit to the OWAs. You can sign up for your first month of membership free here: www.stage32.com/writers-room/plans-vip
