Introduce Yourself : A Story That Crossed My Life & the Multiverse by Kaye Sereneveil

A Story That Crossed My Life & the Multiverse

Hi everyone! I'm Kaye, a screenwriter and storyteller from Bangladesh. I write stories that blend science fiction with intense emotional reality—because sometimes, real life feels more surreal than fiction.

My current project, “The Soul Draft,” is deeply personal.

It’s based on a true story—my story.

Years ago, someone very close to me, my cousin, unexpectedly confessed his love. We had moments of closeness, of distance, of heartbreaking returns. He struggled with inner demons—addiction, emotional instability—and just before my wedding, he asked me to run away with him. I believed him... but he never showed up.

I got married.

That night, he took his own life.

Since then, I’ve seen him in dreams. He’s there—calling me, reaching out, as if he’s stuck in some in-between world.

That’s how The Soul Draft was born—a speculative series about a scientist who crosses universes to bring his wife’s soul back by entering the dreams of her multiversal twin. It's a love story that explores grief, obsession, and the impossible lengths someone might go to for love.

The script is now in development, and I’m hoping to collaborate with directors, producers, and fellow creatives who resonate with emotionally driven sci-fi.

If you love Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Interstellar, or Dark, we might have a lot to talk about.

Looking forward to connecting and creating.

Warmly,

Kaye Sereneveil

Hi Ashley Renée Smith!

Your words truly moved me—thank you so much for taking the time to respond with such warmth.

“The Soul Draft” was written during a time of deep personal grief, and turning that pain into a story felt like the only way I could keep breathing. It’s surreal and incredibly meaningful to have it recognized, especially in a space like Stage 32 that seems to value both craft and heart.

I’m so excited to be part of today’s Open House. It already feels like I’ve walked into a room full of people who understand what stories can carry. I’ll definitely explore the Writer’s Room as well—it sounds like a powerful place to grow, learn, and connect.

Thank you again for making this community feel like home from day one.

Warmly,

Kaye Sereneveil

That is a powerful story and I do hope it makes its way onto the big screen. I couldn't imagine how you've dealt with all of that but I do believe writing can heal. Keep us all posted on your journey - I would be interested to know how you go with this one.

Kaye Sereneveil

Thank you deeply, Lauren Hackney .

This story still lives inside me in fragments, and writing it has helped me slowly piece things back together. Knowing that people like you are interested in this journey gives me strength. I’ll definitely keep sharing updates—your encouragement means more than you know.

Good luck with your story, it sounds fascinating. I am a debut author of a novel “Shaloha Gems” a combination of Shalom & Aloha, set in Hawai’i where I currently reside. Trying to move a novel to the screen is quite a challenge.

Kaye Sereneveil

Thank you so much, Terry Chodosh !

Your novel “Shaloha Gems” sounds beautiful—I love the fusion of “Shalom” and “Aloha.” You're absolutely right, adapting a novel or a layered story to the screen is a big challenge, but it’s also such an exciting journey. Wishing you all the best with Shaloha Gems. Let’s stay connected and keep sharing our progress! Your kind wishes mean a lot.

Amit Kharb
