I wanted to shout out Allen Eckhouse for anyone who is looking into pitch sessions. I've been in some form of the writing business for almost 15 years -- from long and short-form narrative, poetry, published serializations. Currently I teach writing and I mentor screenwriters for feature length and short films in between developing my own projects. This past winter I took a stab at my first high concept, grounded fantasy (adapted from a narrative of mine) for TV/ streaming, and I've never written a pilot nor have I pitched one. I decided to toss it around just to get feedback and what I can improve on selling-wise. Let's be honest, feedback can be hit or miss. Sometimes I ask myself if the person on the other end even read my pitch all the way through. Allen Eckhouse blew me away with his thorough, thoughtful, honest, and constructive feedback. It was very professional, objective, and I am certain it'll help me improve for future pitches.
If you're trying to vet who to pitch and your project aligns with what he's currently reading, I 10/10 recommend!
