My name is Valeria Lemani Tsaurai, and I'm thrilled to be joining this vibrant platform. I'm a debut author from Zimbabwe, passionate about crafting stories that resonate deeply and bridge cultural divides.
My writing journey has been a lifelong love affair with words, fueled by my own family's rich migrant history and a deep belief in the power of narrative to connect us all. I find immense joy and solace in writing, using it as an expressive form to explore complex themes and bring unique perspectives to life.
I'm the author of:
"Boulder of Dreams" (Historical Fiction): My debut novel, a saga set in post-colonial Zimbabwe, exploring themes of identity, migration, family, and a love that bridges divides. It's a story born from my own roots and a desire to honor the enduring strength of the human heart.
"Golden Trails" (Junior Thriller): An upcoming adventure for young readers, featuring brave Zimbabwean protagonists in a high-stakes mystery.
What I'm Looking For on Stage 32:
My ultimate aspiration is to see at least one of my books adapted for the screen. To that end, I am actively looking to connect with:
Industry Professionals: Especially those in development, production, and literary representation, who are interested in diverse, compelling stories with global appeal.
Mentors: Experienced screenwriters or producers who can guide me through the adaptation process, offering insights into script development, pitching, and navigating the industry.
Collaborators: Screenwriters interested in partnering to adapt "Boulder of Dreams" or "Golden Trails" into a screenplay, bringing these narratives to a wider visual audience.
How I Hope to Contribute to the Stage 32 Community:
I believe I can bring a fresh, authentic African perspective and a unique niche to the community. My stories aim to transcend geographical boundaries, offering universal themes of courage, resilience, and human connection that can be relatable to people from all walks of life. I'm eager to share insights from my writing process, discuss the nuances of African storytelling, and learn from the incredible wealth of talent and experience here.
