Hi, I’m Alex, a novice writer passionate about animation. I’m working on some personal projects where I explore original worlds and characters with depth. I’d love to connect with other writers and learn from the experience of this community.
Thanks so much for the tips about the blog. I’ll definitely check it out to learn more. I enjoy all types of animation, but my favorites are 3D and stop-motion because of their artistic quality. That said, I believe any animation medium can be powerful if used intelligently. I’d love to hear what styles you enjoy as well!
I’m getting started on this journey. I recently finished a script and received some unexpectedly positive feedback, which encouraged me to take the next step and create an account here. I’m mostly looking to grow, learn, and figure out how to develop this project along with others I have in mind.
In a society where a cautious AI bans anything thrilling or exciting to ensure humanity’s safety, a boy stumbles upon an ancient robot. United in a powerful friendship, they rediscover the joy of limitless play and the spirit of classic heroes, sparking a bond that could reignite what their world has tried to erase.
I’ve been developing this project for a while and have been seeking useful feedback to polish the script. Many writers have kindly shared recommendations—mostly technical—which have helped me refine it as much as possible.
That sounds exciting and unique, Alex Olguin! I'd definitely watch it!
I think your logline could be tightened up some. Something like: In a society where a cautious AI bans anything thrilling or exciting to ensure humanity’s safety, a _________ (the main flaw he has to overcome in the script or an adjective that describes his personality) boy stumbles upon an ancient robot and _________ (the story goal), sparking a bond that reignites what their world has tried to erase.
Wow! This is great advice, thank you! I reworked the logline a bit:
In a society where a cautious AI bans anything exciting, an imaginative boy discovers an ancient robot and hides it from the system, sparking a bond that could restore joy to their world.
I feel this version is much stronger than the previous one. Thank you again!
You're welcome, Alex Olguin. I think that version is much stronger too, but I think it still needs the story goal (what the boy -- and maybe the robot -- is trying to accomplish).
Great to e-meet you Alex! Glad you found your way to Stage 32, you're definitely at the right place. Are you a writer and an animator or a writer focusing in on the animation space? Do you specialize in a specific kind of animation genre?
Yo, Alex! Glad to see someone else trying to dip their hand into writing for animation.
I focus on the shonen and heavy action style of animation. I have a special place in my heart for well done stop motion though. It is so time consuming but the result is beautiful.
Sam Rivera I'm just a writer, but still don't have the experience though. I'm someone with many ideas and I just want to see how far can I get them. I write for any kind of animation, since to me animation is a medium, not a genre.
