Introduce Yourself : Quick Pitch by Arvid Mahieu

Quick Pitch

Hello everyone!

I recently graduated with a bachelor’s in Film/TV and teamed up with a co-founder to start a treatment design studio. We both come from creative backgrounds and tons of experiences/studies and wanted to build something that helps directors and producers translate ideas into treatments that really land.

We’re still in the early stages, but our focus has always been clear: cinematic storytelling and high-quality treatments that give pitches the best chance of success. It’s been exciting so far, and we’re eager to keep growing.

Here’s where I’d love your insight: what’s the best way to connect with more international clients? We’ve been fortunate to chat with local creatives, but breaking through via cold emails or messages often feels like shouting into the void.

(And since I’d be remiss not to add: if anyone here ever finds themselves in need of treatment support, I’d be happy to connect and see if we can help!)

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts and meeting more of you here.

Thanks!

Hi, Arvid Mahieu. Great to see you again. Congratulations on teaming up with a co-founder to start a treatment design studio! That's a unique idea.

The blog link I put on your last introduction post will help you connect with creatives and industry professionals all over the world. Producers, directors, writers, and more. www.stage32.com/blog/how-to-successfully-navigate-the-stage-32-platform-...

And here's the link to Stage 32’s August Community Open House (www.stage32.com/education/products/stage-32-s-august-community-open-house). It's free to watch.

This weekend is Stage 32's Introduce Yourself Weekend (Friday through Monday, the third weekend of each month). It's a big networking event. Monday’s included so anyone who didn’t get a chance to introduce themselves Friday-Sunday can still introduce/reintroduce themselves.

Is there a market for treatments?

Hey Arvid Mahieu - cool idea you’re building out — congrats on getting it moving so soon after graduation. Treatments are a critical piece of the process.

From my side, I’d say: there definitely is a market for what you’re offering, but it tends to split a bit. In commercials and branded content, directors rely heavily on treatment designers — sometimes multiple in a short time — and they budget for it. That’s where you’ll probably find the most consistent market.

On the film/TV side, it can be trickier, since producers often expect the screenwriter to generate treatments. That said, there are windows of opportunity — especially if you're packaging it with the visual branding/design elements as well.

So my two cents is look at film/TV space, but do look hard at the international commercial/director network. cheers

This quick pitch format sounds exciting! It’s great to see creators getting concise and confident with their ideas. After a long writing day, I like to unwind with something fun like the Rich Asians free spins — helps reset the mind before jumping back into creative work. Best of luck with your pitch!
