Horror Feature Script “Silence of the Forest” — Seeking Producers

Hello everyone,

I’ve completed my feature-length horror script “Silence of the Forest”. This is a contained survival horror set deep in the woods, where a group of students faces a creature that has rapid regeneration through the consumption of blood.. The story balances a suspenseful slow-burn build-up with intense action and gore, leading to a climactic showdown.

The script is finished and ready for consideration.

Genre: Horror / Survival Thriller (strong appeal for both festival and streaming markets).

Runtime: ~70-75 minutes.

Page Count: 65 pages.

Potential for franchise development: work on the sequel is already actively underway.

Budget level: achievable, with limited number of locations (forest, cabin, cave) and small ensemble cast.

Logline:

Nine students head into a remote forest for a carefree getaway, but when two vanish without a trace, the group must uncover the truth and fight for survival against a bloodthirsty creature — or none of them will make it out alive.

Materials available:

I have the full script, as well as synopsis, treatment, and pitch materials ready to share on request.

I’m currently selling the script and open to connecting with producers who may be interested in developing the project.

Open to discussion of options or direct sale.

Thank you for your time,

Mykyta Lisovskyi

Hi, Микита Лісовський. I’m a Stage 32 Lounge Moderator. I wanted to let you know I moved your post from the Producing Lounge to the Your Stage Lounge because it’s promotion. Promotion can go in the Your Stage Lounge and on Your Wall.

You can put promotion in a main Lounge (Producing Lounge, Screenwriting Lounge, Filmmaking/Directing Lounge, etc.) if your post starts a conversation that’s helpful or educational to the community, like giving advice or asking a question.

You can also put promotion in one of the main Lounges if you're asking for feedback.

Let me know if you have any questions.

At 75 pages it's light in the page count. Features are traditionally 90 - 120 pages. Get your page count to where it should be.

Микита Лісовський

Thanks for catching that! The “75 minutes” in my original post was actually a typo on my part — apologies for the confusion. To clarify — the script is currently 52 pages, which translates to about 60–65 minutes on screen. The reason for the lighter page count is that the style relies heavily on atmosphere and visual storytelling (longer nature and suspense shots that don’t take up much space on the page, but extend runtime on screen).

I’m aware it’s lean compared to the traditional 90–120 pages, but I see it as a contained horror feature — closer to 60 minutes — which can still work well for festivals and streaming platforms. My goal was to keep the story tight and intense, without filler.

I’m open to feedback on whether it would make sense to expand it further, but as it stands, it’s intended as a focused survival horror with strong potential for franchise development.

So it is a pilot/proof of concept?

Maurice Vaughan

Unique concept, Микита Лісовський. I think it'll help to get your script to at least 80 pages. You could look through your script, seeing where you can extend scenes and add scenes. Maybe add a character(s) and a subplot(s). Don't force it though. Make sure what you add is important to the story.

Or you could change the format to a TV series/limited series and expand the story. Maybe the students facing the creature in the woods is the pilot, then it follows the survivors back home and they have to fight to survive against it throughout the show.

Микита Лісовський

It’s not a pilot or proof of concept — it’s written as a complete feature. The script now runs 65 pages, which translates into around 70-75 minutes of screen time once you factor in the pacing, atmosphere, and cinematic shots of the forest (morning, day, night, transitions). The intention was always to keep it tight and focused, in line with many indie horror features that fall in the 70–80 minute range.

Микита Лісовський

Thank you for the feedback, Maurice! I’ve expanded the script and it now runs 65 pages, which should translate to around 70—75 minutes on screen once the atmospheric forest sequences are included. I chose not to artificially push it to 80+ pages, as I want to keep the story lean and maintain its intensity. Many successful indie horror films operate within that range, and I believe this format serves the concept best. That said, I also see the potential for expanding into a limited series or sequel — in fact, I’m already actively developing a sequel.

You're welcome, Микита Лісовський. Congratulations on getting your script to 65 pages! I've seen short Horror features, so 70-75 minutes might be ok. And you could get feedback on your script to see if there are any places where you could make your script longer.
