My filmmaking journey began with four close friends I met at an animation institute. What started as a simple student project — a short film called The Game of Life turned into something much bigger. That project taught us the true power of collaboration, and when it went on to win in every category at our institute’s competition, we realized we had something special together. That spark became Astraanox Studio, a creative family born from friendship and a shared love for storytelling.
Being an independent filmmaker is both challenging and rewarding. Like many emerging storytellers, I juggle day jobs, face financial limitations, and run into creative obstacles, but those struggles fuel my storytelling and keep me grounded.
Most recently, my team and I completed “Go-chi”, a short film that will soon premiere on Dust, the sci-fi streaming platform by Gunpowder & Sky. Sharing our work with a global audience feels like a milestone and just the beginning of what’s ahead.
I’d love to connect with other filmmakers, animators, and storytellers especially those working in sci-fi or independent cinema. How did you start your creative journey, and what’s something you’ve learned along the way?

Subject: Screenplay Submission – Dance in the Fire
Hello,
My name is Yasmin, and I am an emerging screenwriter.
I have written a mystery drama screenplay titled “Dance in the Fire.”
The story follows high school students who dream of becoming K-pop idols, only to uncover dark secrets hidden behind the entertainment industry. The script blends humor, friendship, and suspense.
I believe this story will particularly resonate with Asian audiences who enjoy emotionally charged and thrilling school dramas.
Would it be possible for me to send you a brief synopsis or a sample of the screenplay?
Thank you very much for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Yasmin
