Getting my creative voice back.

I retired at the end of July and after taking some time to decompress and get back to who I was, i went back to writing. To give a bit of a backstory on things, my writing partner has been working on a business startup and writing has been on hold. The creative part of me that has been tied down my work, health issues, all the red tape of getting retirement had me locked up. We had potential possible representation for a script we labored over and the response was very negative. We had previously gotten one of our scripts optioned and felt good about the script. After letting the disappointment set in for a while, we were on hold. As previously mentioned my writing partner was occupied with his startup. We had talked about rewriting the script and some of the characters we liked. We went for a western period theme with a female lead for one idea and taking the law enforcement characters for another script. I wrote treatments for both and since my partner was tied up, I started writing. I finished the rough draft of the western period piece and am finishing up on the second rough draft of the script with the law enforcement characters. My whole point is I lost my voice as a writer for a while but finding it again is something that makes me feel like myself again. I don't know when my partner will go over either script or if he will like the direction but I continue to write and that is the force I continue to follow.
