Introduce Yourself : Hello & Hi! by Hannah Westphal

Hannah Westphal

Hello & Hi!

I am new here on Stage32.

I am a trauma-informed constultant for film,TV, theatre and visual storytelling, an actress and a photographer.

My work is mainly around embodied storytelling of psychologically difficult subjects, supporting the crew and cast to bring those stories authentically to life.

I love exploring stories and roles with psychological depth.

I am currently doing a research residency where I am developing a specific methodology for the intersection of neuroscience, trauma and creative/visual storytelling.

I would love to connect with directors, producers and creative teams that are interested emotionally rich narratives and trauma-informed storytelling! :-)

And Stage 32’s next Community Open House is happening on October 29th (www.stage32.com/education/products/stage-32-s-october-community-open-hou...). It's free, and it'll help you navigate Stage 32 and connect with creatives and industry pros. There's going to be a live Q&A during the Open House.

What's trauma-informed storytelling?

Asl Seil

Stage 32 isn’t ready for that level of intimacy, Hanna. Let’s just observe the experiment.”

Thanks Maurice Vaughan ! In a production context, trauma-informed storytelling means supporting actors and teams to explore emotional material safely and authentically, creating stronger, more compelling performances.

PLEASE!!! I AM A VERY EDUCATED SCREENWRITER, self taught from an incredibly young age through EVERY SCREENWRITING PHYSICAL BOOK I COULD READ (DEVOUR) that taught me the physical fundamentals of screenwriting without the help of professional screenwriting programs such as Final Draft!!! I have an AMAZING story idea that I JUST HAVE TO get out!!! I have always been a romantic/YA writer BUT this idea takes me WAYYYYYY beyond my comfort zone!!! I'd LOVE to hear from anyone that thinks they could be of any assistance!!! Thank you!!!

Welcome Hannah Westphal When I first came to Stage 32 I found the Open Houses valuable... in fact, I still attend them. There's so much information in the lounges too - I hope you enjoy your time here!

Brettina Davis

Hey! I'm new as well! It's very nice to meet you. As someone who focuses on mental health in film storytelling, I love that you are an intimacy coordinator.

Meriem Bouziani

Nice to meet you Hannah Westphal

I’m very interested in neurological and psychological science fiction, and several of my works explore these themes.

The Silent PFC War – a dystopian thriller where aliens release a gas that shuts down the human prefrontal cortex.

The Disabled Puzzle: A New Life – a science-fiction story built around three experimental simulations that allow ordinary people to experience real disabilities—blindness, deafness, and autism. The fourth part explores social discrimination and intimacy through the story of physical disfigurement.

The Savant Syndrome Harvest – a psychological sci-fi tale where aliens use humans as bio-robots.
