An outside perspective is crucial, especially when working on a socially sharp, art-house story. You've hit on a crucial point. Finding a "truly professional outside perspective" is vital, especially for the "socially sharp, art-house" stories you mentioned. As a filmmaker from Vietnam focused on similar themes (social realism, psychological depth), I understand how challenging it is to find feedback that truly grasps the nuances of that specific genre.
