Hey Stage 32!
I'm Ryan, a screenwriter from New Hampshire who spent way too much of my childhood obsessed with trading cards, video games, and Saturday morning cartoons—and somehow turned that into a dramedy series.
HOUSE OF CARDBOARD is my passion project: The Big Short meets It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. When a crypto crash transforms trading cards into the world's reserve currency, a broke card shop owner becomes a millionaire overnight—then must stop his ex-girlfriend from destroying the card-based economy with counterfeits.
It's 8 episodes of financial satire, absurdist escalation, and characters taking ridiculous situations completely seriously. Think GameStop/meme stock chaos meets collectibles culture, with riots over booster boxes and a dystopian grading bureau staffed by bored teenagers.
I've got the pilot script, full series bible, and pitch deck all ready to go. Currently building my network here and looking to connect with:
Fellow comedy writers (especially economic satire)
Anyone writing about subcultures/hobbies
Producers/managers interested in limited series with franchise potential
Writers who want to swap scripts and give honest feedback
I'm here to be an active community member—happy to read loglines, swap notes, and talk craft. Always down to discuss why Silicon Valley nailed tech satire or why Arrested Development callbacks are the gold standard.
Looking forward to connecting with you all!
What are you working on right now?

I suggest adding a profile picture of yourself. People will feel more comfortable networking and collaborating with you if they know what you look like. And if you have a picture, your profile will show up when someone searches for you. You can upload a picture by clicking the gear symbol in the top right-hand corner and selecting “Edit profile” in the drop-down menu, then clicking the red button underneath your location and choosing "Update profile picture."
You could also introduce yourself to the community in the Introduce Yourself Lounge (www.stage32.com/lounge/introduce_yourself).
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is hilarious! House of Cardboard sounds fun and unique! I'm rewriting a Horror Action feature script, outlining a Fantasy Action feature script, and working on other projects here and there.
