Hey everyone! I'm Elle and it's nice to meet you. I'm a writer and screenwriter from the Southern US. I write character driven narratives spanning several genres.
I've been part of Stage 32 for a few months now. You'll mostly see me kicking around the Screenwriting lounge and if you are a member of the Writer's Room, you'll see me in there.
I pop in every day at least, so don't be afraid to add me to your network and shoot me a message if you have any questions, need to bounce ideas, or just need an ear to rant to.
Happy Introduce Yourself Weekend and I can't wait to get to know you all!

@Maurice Vaughan I'm not responsible for any damages to the furniture! Haha - I'm kidding. Thank you. If I've done stuff, I dunno what but I hope it's been good. I know I kind of just showed up like, "Hey y'all, I'm shy. Here's some cornbread. Hope you like jalapeno!" And started jabbering like I'd known everybody forever LoL. I really missed my previous writing community during my creative hiatus. Stage 32 kind of felt like coming home, even though I had never been here until a few months ago.
It's a great platform. If I can do good for the people here, that makes me happy.

You gotta pay for anything you damage or break, Elle Bolan. Haha You're welcome. I love cornbread. I haven't tried jalapeno cornbread. I'm glad you found a new writing community! Roll Tide!

@Maurice jalapeno cheddar cornbread with a big bowl of stew or chilli... Oh my gosh. Best thing ever.

Hi there, Elle. Garret from SC here.
I gotta try that, Elle Bolan! I make up dishes and treats for my scripts sometimes. Do you do that?

@Maurice Vaughan, I do! I love to cook and you know how it is in the South, we like to eat. A lot of families still come together at mealtimes. Since the southern US region features in all of my work, oh yes. Food sneaks in. It's in our culture. Right along with high cholesterol and attitude haha.

Those are two of the things I love about the South, Elle Bolan. Eating and families coming together at mealtimes. One of my characters owns a bakery where she makes treats that taste like pie.

@Maurice... Do you have actual recipes for these treats?? Inquiring minds must know.

I don't, Elle Bolan, but here's a pie cookie recipe: https://richanddelish.com/apple-pie-cookies/

You may have only been here for a few months Elle Bolan but you're already making a huge splash. You're present and a joy to see in the lounges. Happy IY Weekend!

Oh now, y'all making me aw shucks before noon. LoL
Thanks, Leonardo Ramirez 2 . I know I'm a bit silly and say dumb stuff a lot. I'm not super polished and professional. I don't have a brand or even a plan, really. But... Y'all still made me welcome and continue to make me feel like I belong in this space. Simply because I can string a sentence together.
I think y'all's impact on me has been way bigger than anything I could ever do here. That's for all of you, not just Leo. I dunno if any of you even know that. But it's true.

Silly is the best medicine Elle Bolan. I know the saying uses "laughter" but same thing. And trust me, you belong. Thanks for all you're already doing friend.

Welcome (back), Elle! Great to see you here for IYW. Your focus on character-driven narratives across genres is fantastic, that's the heart of lasting stories. And it's so helpful that you're a regular in the lounges; that sense of community is everything here.

@Sam Rivera - the community is what keeps me coming back. Like nowhere else (for creatives) I've found on the web.

Hello Elle Bolan pleasure to get connected. You mentioned you write for several genres, what are your top three favorite genres you've written for thus far?

Thriller, drama, and sci-fi. @Cyrus Sales I can write whatever the story demands (except romance! I can't do romance) but thriller and drama seems to be my heavy hitters.

Elle Bolan, so great to see you reintroduce yourself, and I love how clearly your voice comes through here. Character-driven stories across genres, especially rooted in the Southern US, always bring such a strong sense of place and emotional texture. It’s also been wonderful to watch you show up consistently and make yourself available to others, that generosity is what really makes this community work. Really glad you’re here, Elle.

Love having you in the community and love your energy Elle! What genres are you writing right now? For anyone who is not familiar with the Writers' Room it's a private community of dedicated screenwriters that meets weekly with managers, executives, agents and execs as well as work on accountabiility with one another to write! https://www.stage32.com/writers-room

@Ashley Renee Smith, thank you. I only have my time and previous experience to offer - if it's helpful, that's enough. Creative folks have a lonely life a lot of times and many get no support in their home life. As blessed as I am to have ALL the support, both here and at home, it would be a slap in everyone's face for me to fail at paying that forward.

@Dwayne, top 3 seem to be drama, thriller, and horror are personal favorites.

@Amanda Toney, right now I'm writing a Southern Appalachian ensemble drama with just a hint of magic realism. Energy/manifestation made a universal mechanic that applies to all people, all the time. With catastrophic outcome. Going big with this one. Title is SHIFT. I'm very excited about it. Drama seems to be my natural inclination in scripts. I land there a lot.
