Visualizing the DCU: Batman’s perspective on Superman (Storyboard & Script Breakdown)

Hi everyone! I’m currently developing a 40-page feature script titled 'The Caped Crusader', focusing on a veteran Batman facing the ancient conspiracy of the Court of Owls.

I wanted to share the first step of this visual journey. This is Storyboard 01: Beneath the Mask.

In this opening (Act 1, Scene 2), I wanted to contrast the global hope of Superman with the grounded, gritty reality of Gotham. Bruce Wayne isn't just fighting criminals; he's preparing for a war against a myth that turned out to be real.

I'm a big believer that a script is only as strong as the vision behind it. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this approach to the DCU!

Check out the full script on my profile and visit my 'Photos' section for the complete storyboard gallery! #MakeTheCapedCrusaderReality

Looking forward to connecting with more creators here!

I suggest using a photo of yourself as your profile picture. People will feel more comfortable networking and collaborating with you if they know what you look like. You can upload a picture by clicking the gear symbol in the top right-hand corner and selecting “Edit profile” in the drop-down menu, then clicking the red button underneath your location and choosing "Update profile picture."

"Bruce Wayne isn't just fighting criminals; he's preparing for a war against a myth that turned out to be real." I like that approach! Are you just writing the script for practice and fun?

Joskar Hernandez Birriel

Hi Maurice Vaughan! Thank you so much for the warm welcome and for the tips!

To answer your question: It started as a passion project because of my deep love for superhero cinema, but my goal is to make 'The Caped Crusader' a reality. I didn't just want to write another fan script; I wanted to build a cinematic vision that feels fresh and necessary for the character. That’s why I’ve developed the storyboards and the full 40-page script—because I see this as a film, not just a draft. I’m here to connect with people who share that same drive to bring high-quality stories to the screen!

You're welcome, Joskar Hernandez Birriel. Hope you make The Caped Crusader a reality! It might be really hard since your script is based off existing IPs, but it's possible. I'm looking forward to watching the movie!

Thank you so much Maurice Vaughan! I'm fully aware of the challenges with existing IPs, but my goal is to show what I can do as a storyteller and visual creator within this universe. I really appreciate the contact for the Success Team—I'll definitely reach out to Geoff and his team to learn how to navigate this path. Thanks for believing in the vision!

You're welcome, Joskar Hernandez Birriel. Oh okay. Cool. I write fan fiction scripts and use them to showcase my storytelling skills too. Also, 40 pages is a short script. I suggest getting it to 80 pages, 85 pages, etc.

Joskar Hernandez Birriel

That’s a great point Maurice Vaughan! You're right, it's currently a 40-page Proof of Concept. My goal is to use this first act to showcase the tone, the visual direction, and the narrative stakes I'm aiming for. I'm definitely considering expanding it into a full-length feature as the project evolves! Thanks for the tip on the page count, it really helps to keep the industry standards in mind.

This is a fantastic approach, Joskar! I love the idea of Bruce Wayne preparing for a 'war against a myth.'

I’m currently co-developing a high-concept sci-fi pilot where we deal with a similar contrast—bringing an ancient, powerful being into a very grounded, gritty modern setting. Focusing on that 'myth vs. reality' dynamic is exactly what makes these stories feel prestigious. Your storyboard looks like a great first step in visualizing that world. Keep up the great work!
