Hello Stage 32 Community,
My name is Bruno Cubaka Muhimuzi, a Screenplay and Director from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
I’m currently developing my next feature film, MALI – The Unseen Battle, an arthouse drama set in a war-affected region, exploring psychological trauma, disability, motherhood, and the invisible scars left by conflict. The film follows a young woman who must fight to rebuild her place in her family and in society while confronting haunting inner visions that distort her reality.
My work focuses on human-centered stories rooted in African realities, with strong cinematic language and international ambition.
I’m here to connect with producers, co-producers, sales agents, distributors, and creative collaborators interested in socially impactful, character-driven cinema.

Looking forward to meaningful exchanges and collaborations

Your new film sounds incredible Bruno. It really incorporates such visceral themes. I love that you were going to bring in these universal themes into an African world that we are around the world will get to see. Have you started casting yet?

Thank you very much for your interest and for this important question.
At this stage, my priority is to first secure strong producing partners on the project before officially launching the casting process. I believe it is essential to align the creative and financial vision with the producers before moving forward with formal attachments.
That said, I already have several local and international profiles in mind, and I am actively mapping potential talent that could serve both the artistic integrity and the international positioning of the film.
I would be very happy to discuss this further with you.
