Introduce Yourself : The Latest... by Adam Fisk

The Latest...

Hi, everyone. I've been on Stage 32 for a number of years, trying here and there to establish a career as a creative, but it hasn't always been possible for me to put a lot into it because I've also been working with my wife at the greatest task of raising a family for the past seventeen years while contributing to supporting them through my secondary skill in the culinary arts which, of course, has been a priority. I have kept up on my writing and my music as much as possible though, and now, with our kids being teenagers, I find myself in a position where I can put a little bit more into developing my primary skill through further building onto my creative work.

So, here I am again, working toward the goal of populating my relatively obscure YouTube channel, "Innovation Pictures," with content while hoping to achieve my dream of eventually turning it into a real-world production house featuring the unique, intertwined combination of a pop-culture-themed public commissary with a diner-style menu, a working production studio with a soundstage, editing suite and recording studio that'll be open for rental to various musicians and filmmakers, and a dance club and local concert venue that will also be tied in with the in-house recording studio. And through it all, the production arm of the operation will continue using the studio's facilities to create our own in-house projects as well. I know it's ambitious, but as Terence and Virgil told us, "fortune favors the bold."

So these days, I have seven feature-length screenplays finished and ready to be considered, three short scripts - one of which we're going to be shooting this coming May - a number of short stories already finished with another one just about ready to go, the passion project of my first novel - a near-future dystopian epic and social commentary - that I'm currently in the middle of writing, and a ten-track demo of rock songs that I've written, produced and plan to start moving forward with in the near future under the project name, "A Thousand Years To Christmas." Check out my page for more details on the work I'm doing if you're interested in learning more about it. God bless and good success to all of you.

Hi, Adam Fisk. Happy New Year! Great to see you at Introduce Yourself Weekend. I just subscribed to the Innovation Pictures channel. Congratulations on your short script shooting this May! What's your main feature screenplay?

Juliana Philippi

Adam Fisk I love this post. Creative careers are lifetimes, and you have been focusing on the family, and love, that is around you, which I am sure has inspired a script or two :) Forward, keep going, you can do it, and in this community, I believe, that you can find those producers, and directors, and actors, and everyone to create your team, if you just keep showing up, when you can. I wish you every luck in the universe!

Adam Fisk

Maurice Vaughan, Happy New Year to you as well. And thank you for subscribing. God willing, I'll have some content on there soon, lol. To answer your question, probably my main feature script is "Days Gone By." It's a unique sci-fi action/romance about a bank manager trying to protect his long-lost college girlfriend from a horde of mind-bending entities that are targeting her for elimination. The entire screenplay is in my loglines so feel free to give it a read if you like.

Adam Fisk

Juliana Philippi, Thank you for the kind words. You're right, creative careers are a lifetime. I have a friend back home in New York who's a piano prodigy and famous vocal coach and I told him once, there are many careers that are basically what you do. But a creative career is who you are. That's why Spielberg said that he's just going to keep making films for as long as he can. And now, he's pushing 80 and still at it. But as far as my family and inspirations go, you're right. There are a number of experiences that have inspired some of my work, plus my family themselves have come up with some ideas of their own based on our experiences. It's always cool when that happens. Actually, the short film I'm about to shoot includes my wife co-producing and shooting as DP (She's a gifted photographer), our daughter co-producing, co-editing (She's a gifted editor), doing the production design and playing the lead role, and our son also playing a key role along with three of the kids' friends, one of whom is our daughter's boyfriend who is an aspiring filmmaker himself and is co-editing along with our daughter and I. So creativity can easily be a family business, lol.

Juliana Philippi

Adam Fisk Yes, the best, most intense lol, but rewarding ( I think ) family business. Wonderful!

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Adam Fisk. Wow! Days Gone By sounds really interesting and unique! I have a lot on my plate with projects, scripts to read, etc., but I bookmarked your profile. I'm looking forward to reading your script as soon as I can!

Adam Fisk

Juliana Philippi The most rewarding indeed. Yes, intense, but worth it, lol. I do what I do because I love it, but the idea of supporting my family this way is just amazing.

Adam Fisk

Maurice Vaughan Thanks, bro. Hey, good luck with everything you have going on. I hope it all works out.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Adam Fisk. Thanks. I've had a lot of success on Stage 32. Hope you do too with your projects and channel!

And Stage 32's next Community Open House will be January 28th. It'll also help you make connections. It's free to sign up for the Open House. You can find out more in today's blog (www.stage32.com/blog/whether-youre-new-or-a-longtime-member-the-stage-32...).

Adam Fisk -- welcome back! And congrats on getting to this stage.

If you're looking to get those seven features in front of industry folks (managers, producers, development execs), Stage 32's pitch sessions and Open Writing Assignments could be solid pathways. We also have Writers' Room members shooting their own projects who'd probably relate to what you're building with Innovation Pictures. Worth connecting with them in the Filmmaking Lounge.

Either way, glad to see you leaning into this phase. Feel free to email me and the team at success@stage32.com for strategic advice and recommendations.

Adam Fisk

Great, thanks for the heads up.
