Introduce Yourself : Laying a Path Stone by Stephen Hobbs

Laying a Path Stone

I’m Stephen Hobbs (EdD) —writer, educator, and (co)creator working at the intersection of aging, legacy, story, and lived experience.

I’m currently developing Solace Grove, an imaginary town that has quietly taken up a bold initiative: moving aging into and through legacy by becoming what I call a Legacent—someone living the legacy they intend to leave, in real time, with others.

I write on Substack to explore the characters, relationships, and learning emerging from Solace Grove, using story to surface questions about aging after 60, intergenerational conversations about conservations, relevance, humour, regret, care, and continuity.

My long-form vision is a Netflix-style lifestyle series—comedic and dramatic—where viewers see themselves, their parents, or their future selves, and think, “Wow… that matters to me.”

This is a transmedia project with a connected (and coexistent) story world called Awarests—Awareness From Forests—where nature, learning, and human sense-making intersect - on hold as I develop Solace Grove.

I’m here to connect with ???? who are interested in character-driven story-sharing that treats aging, legacy, and meaning as lived, relational, and worth watching.

Solace Grove sounds interesting! You could post your pilot script on your profile when it's ready. Producers search profiles for projects. That and networking are how I sold four short scripts to a producer. Click the gear symbol in the top right-hand corner and select “Edit profile” in the drop-down menu. Scroll down to “Loglines” and click “Add/edit loglines” to the right of “Loglines.” You can also post your script on your profile this way: www.stage32.com/loglines (near the top where it says “Add a Logline”)
