Your Stage : Inquisitor of Witches (new script available) by Tom Stohlgren

Inquisitor of Witches (new script available)

I just loaded my latest feature script, “Inquisitor of Witches," on Stage32. I think this one has incredible commercial potential in the global market.

I envisioned this contemporary thriller-horror set in Los Angeles, but I can adapt it to any major city in the US, Canada, or Europe in about a week.

It’s a strong, female-led script that counters the misogynistic villains in the story.

Following Dan Brown’s “The DaVinci Code” style, I began with six-months of research. I was inspired by research on the European witch hunts from 1500 AD to the late 1800s, following the publication of “Malleus Maleficarum," or “The Hammer of Witches,” by a Dominican priest. This led to 40,000 to 60,000 “witches” (95% women) being tortured into confessing, then hanged, burned.

I learned from YouTube that an original volume of the 1491 book can be seen (and filmed) at Portland State University in Oregon. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bLFTqiZrkGM&t=408s

I also learned that “wrench attacks” are rising globally. That’s where cryptocurrency thieves torture victims to gain access to passcodes.

The script is on my loglines page. If you’re interested in seeing the pitch deck, I loaded it onto LinkedIn -- or drop me an email at tjstohlgren@gmail.com

Special Thanks for all you do,

Cheers,

Tom
