Kickstarter and why authors should consider this.

Hey Authors and Playwrights,

Thinking about using Kickstarter for your next book? Whether it’s your debut release or your latest project, Kickstarter is built to help publishing ideas come to life.

It’s an incredible tool for writers and publishers looking to fund new titles - or even launch special editions your readers will love.

Here’s how it works: you set a funding goal and create a campaign page that shares your story, your book, and why readers should support it. You can offer reward tiers at different price points, giving your community exciting options that fit their budget - signed copies, exclusive editions, bonus content, and more.

Once your project is fully funded, the money is yours to bring your vision to life. Hire a content editor, polish it with a copy editor, invest in a stunning cover design, and print copies for your backers.

Kickstarter isn’t just about funding - it’s about building momentum, engaging your audience, and turning your book into a reality.

Food for thought for your next book!

Thanks, Lauren Hackney. I've seen Kickstarter campaigns for films. Putting a logline near the top of the page so people know what the movie is about helps. I'm guessing authors would use a short summary instead of a logline.
