Writing a feature film treatment is one of the most powerful — and most overlooked — skills you can have as a screenwriter. Before you ever type FADE IN, a strong treatment helps you clarify your story, test its emotional engine, and make sure your idea can sustain a full feature. Just as importantly, it’s a professional tool you’ll be asked for again and again by agents, managers, producers, and executives. If you want your project to move forward, you need to be able to clearly and compellingly communicate your story on the page. The problem is, treatments are where a lot of writers get stuck.
