Hey Stage 32 community!
I'm Drake Highlander — an author and former middle school teacher from Yellow Springs, Ohio. I'm not a screenwriter, but I'm hoping that's exactly why I belong here.
In 2008 I self-published a middle grade novel called "What NOT to Do When You Find a Spaceship" — a heartfelt sci-fi adventure set in 1985 Ohio about a lonely twelve-year-old comic book writer whose alien dog dies in the woods and leaves behind a crashed spaceship and a galaxy in crisis. Think E.T. meets The Goonies, with real emotional stakes and a cast of kids who genuinely earn their arcs.
I've believed for years this story has the bones of a summer blockbuster. I finally have a full pitch document and treatment ready. What I need now is the right screenwriting partner to help bring it to the screen.
