Hello Stage 32 Community,
My name is Jon Landers, and I’m excited to reconnect here. Over the years I’ve worn many creative hats — founder of an indie music series in NYC, songwriter, music producer, and more recently an author and publisher.
I’m currently developing projects that blend music, storytelling, and real-life experiences. I believe stories — whether told through film, song, or the written word — are ultimately about connection.
At this stage of my life, I’m not chasing fame. I’m building meaningful work. I’m here to collaborate, learn, and explore opportunities where music and narrative intersect with film and television.
Looking forward to meeting writers, producers, composers, and creatives who believe that great storytelling still matters.
– Jon

Welcome! Make sure you sign up to be part of the Open Houses when they are on. They are free to join and some of the senior management attend sometimes. Keep being active in the lounges so people can get to know you and build relationships with you! Good luck!

Jon Landers, first of all, thank you for taking me up on the challenge to post your introduction after yesterday’s Open House. I love seeing action taken in real time.
You’re approaching your time here with exactly the right mindset! With your background in indie music, songwriting, producing, authorship, and now developing cross-medium projects, I’d strongly encourage regular activity in the Authoring & Playwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/playwriting) and the Composing Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/composing). Sharing your experiences there and joining conversations will help you connect with creatives who also sit at the intersection of music and narrative.
The Producing Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/producing) and Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting) are also excellent spaces to jump into conversations and build relationships with professionals who understand how music and story shape one another in development.
I’m really glad you’re here, Jon. Keep leaning into collaboration and connection. That’s where the real magic tends to happen.
Beautifully said. I strongly relate to that idea of connection. Music is often my way into a story. I usually start a script by building a playlist first to find the emotional core and deepen the meaning. In my current project I’m experimenting with weaving an opera narrative into the story as another layer.
Best of luck with everything you’re building!
