Filmmaker & Film Director

Films are more than visuals if only you can imagine the spaces between what’s shown and what’s felt, the pauses between the said and the unsaid, and everything in between. Those metaphorical moments redefine craft.

I don’t just make films; I have spent over sixteen years mastering the art of the ‘cut’, capturing those precise frames where craft, emotion, and intent lock into place and refuse to be forgotten.

From briefs to brilliance, I sculpt stories with a cinematic spine and fine-tune them with a human pulse, moving fluidly between scale and subtlety, spectacle and silence. My early years at UTV, Times Group, and Sony sharpened an instinct for audience truth; since founding Purple Flicks, I’ve pushed that truth into bolder, braver, and more beautiful forms.

We’ve delivered two hundred-plus projects, forty-plus brand films, and narratives across countless locations for visionaries like National Geographic, Tata, BMW, NTPC, and more. Our signature: cinematic depth, emotional intelligence, stories that linger long after the screen fades to black.

From Wake Up King to KBH, India’s first corporate web series on JioCinema. I continue stitching branded and original storytelling. And now, with upcoming features like Hidden Trails and The Four Walls, I step further into freer territory, exploring what happens when the frame opens wide.

At my core, I’m a quiet observer- thinking, traveling, diving deep (sometimes literally), listening to music, and occasionally letting a chilled beer mark the end of a long creative day. The rest of the time? Turning ideas into moving images, and images into meaning.

If you believe in stories that resonate in the unsaid, in the pauses that carry weight—let’s connect. Share a thought, a project, or a pause that lingers for you. I’m listening.

@Arvind Thanks for sharing your insights. I often call subtext, “knowledge gaps.” There is power & varying emotional shades in these spaces, that prick beneath the surface of the dialogue & action, as bold or as subtle as a scene needs. The shots provide comic respite, or portray empathy, attraction, dramatic irony, happiness, raw home truths over feigned lies etc. Nuggets of verisimilitude, expose, reveal and tell, more than words. Group dynamics can shift radically too, depending on which characters, acknowledge & understand a subtext & those who do not even notice it. (Gestures may, or may not be deliberate, or can even be coded.) Often in sitcoms/romcoms, no character notices the subtext, but the audience does. If no subtext, I use brief cutaways as a flash abstract to inform, misdirect or tease audience.
