Screenwriting : Which script excites you more? by Azel Carstens

Which script excites you more?

Which of your own scripts are you the most excited about? The one/s already written or the is there one drifting in your mind, not yet on paper, that gets the blood pumping.

Although my already written script excites me, the one that really gets me excited is still in my mind. I love the planning stage, the scenes playing off in your mind's eye, catching my breath as I think of something more thrilling to add.

Share which one made you catch your breath.

Minh Nguyen

My films are each a part of what I want to convey and of myself, but if I had to choose, it would certainly be Our Steps Together, Even Without Wings and Pearl.

I’m proud of the scripts I’ve already completed, but the one that excites me most is usually the next. There’s something addictive about the planning stage, when scenes start playing in your head, and the world begins to build itself.

Richard Kjeldgaard

I write all genres. Anytime I get one completed, I get excited. At times when I write horror, I do get a little anxiety when I write out a scene. I think that's a good thing!

There is something to be said for the world of possibilities a new idea holds.

I love seeing a finished product and wonder "who wrote that? Oh yeah, I did!" However I still don't think any of my scripts are exactly where I want them though, so there is some frustration with the process. I'm working hard on doing justice for the ideas in my head. It seems there's not enough hours in the day!

I daydream a lot so I find it really exciting to daydream the perfect scene or story in my head. There have been times I've made myself laugh or cry with a scene I've thought up, and think "if I could get that down on paper!" So far that disconnect between what I see in my head and the final product is still too far apart, so the minds-eye is still where my excitement is greatest so far.
