In one tense music workshop in a juvenile detention center rec room, Jamie - a young corporate lawyer in over his head - tries to impose structure on a group of detained teens and quickly loses the room. When Destiny calls him out and gives a raw, moving performance, the session pivots and Jamie, and we, begin to dive more deeply into the truth of these kids and their heartbreaking stories. THE SESSION is a five-minute proof-of-concept short which I wrote, directed and produced. It condenses several scenes from the feature screenplay JDs* (*Juvenile Delinquents/Juris Doctor) into one. 1. How much did this short cost?
2. How many people worked behind the scenes?
3. What kind of gear was on set?
4. What was the biggest challenge working on this?
HI Kevin! Sorry for the delayed response, I was away. Thanks for those kind words. Re your questions: 1)I don't talk about $$! 2)We had around 8-10 crew and post-production specs. 3)I don't know specifically, but we did use a pro digital camera. 4)Many challenges! Maybe the biggest one was casting, which is always SO key.
