Hello everyone, my name is Christian Lomax. I’m a Detroit-based screenwriter, filmmaker, and lifelong creative focused on commercial horror, thriller, and crime stories. I’ve been drawn to storytelling since I was a kid — when I was 11, a creative writing teacher entered one of my poems into a Scholastic writing contest, and it won. That led to a summer scholarship at a university journalism program, where I was the only 11-year-old in the class.
Since then, writing has always stayed with me. My goal now is to build a professional career as a screenwriter and filmmaker, creating cinematic, emotionally grounded genre stories with strong hooks, memorable characters, and franchise potential. I’m excited to connect with other creatives, learn from the community, and build meaningful industry relationships.

Love this, Christian. Especially the part about being 11 years old sitting in a university journalism programme — that’s the kind of thing people remember because it says a lot about the obsession starting early.
Also really relate to the idea of emotionally grounded genre stories. The hooks may pull people in, but it’s always the damaged, believable characters underneath that make horror or thrillers actually stay with you afterwards... my first pilot is We Are One .. teenage infected ( not full zombie!) fails her initiation hunt.. follows the downfall that brings to family and community.
Sounds like you already understand the balance between commercial storytelling and emotional realism, which honestly a lot of genre writers never quite crack. Good luck !
