A feature film I've written titled Escapade

Escapade is a character-driven dramedy about ambition, identity, and the moment you realize your life is yours to choose. Zay Porter, a 21-year-old aspiring content creator on track to become a full-time teacher through online college, spends his days mentoring elementary school kids who dream without limits—while quietly questioning when he stopped doing the same. Caught between stability and fulfillment, Zay takes a leap and heads to Atlanta during spring break, hoping to find clarity in a city known for its creativity, culture, and opportunity.

What starts as a hopeful getaway quickly turns into a series of unpredictable highs and lows. Zay finds himself stepping into Atlanta’s creative scene—modeling for a rising fashion brand, connecting with a fast-moving network of creators, and forming an instant bond with Nia and her podcast co-hosts, Maya and Kinsley, the vibrant voices behind Outside the Frame. Through their world, Zay gets his first real taste of visibility, community, and what it means to be seen—not just online, but in real life. But just as things begin to click, reality hits. His car is broken into and left on bricks, his sense of control slips, and the pressure of chasing something bigger begins to feel very real.

Through every trial, setback, and unexpected win, Zay is forced to confront the truth: success isn’t instant, and purpose doesn’t come without risk. Supported by new connections and grounded by where he comes from, he begins to understand that growth isn’t about escaping your life—it’s about choosing it. Blending humor, realism, and emotional depth, Escapade captures a generation navigating uncertainty, creativity, and self-discovery, asking a simple but powerful question: what happens when you finally bet on yourself?
