Looking out over the industry lately, I’ve been reflecting a lot on what it truly takes to cross the gap from aspiring creator to sustained professional. Every massive milestone started with a single, calculated risk.
I want to check in with the community here: How is your career tracking so far this year? What is the single most important move you’ve made to archive your dreams and push your projects into reality?
Moving your career into the top tier requires more than just talent—it takes a radical understanding of the business, packaging, and high-level strategy. Do you feel like you have a clear roadmap right now, or do you need more practical, actionable steps on how to position yourself to connect with top-tier executives and financing?
Drop your wins, your current hurdles, or where you're feeling stuck below. Let’s talk strategy.

My wife and I have been travelling the world since 2024 researching for the portfolio of projects I am developing. It was the ultimate hold hands, jump and hope you nail the landing.....Stacey Cooper

Stacey Cooper Very good post! I agree that if you want to make screenwriting a career it takes objective-based planning similar to starting a business. Quarterly achievable goals and methods for executing those goals.
My career is tracking well this year, thank you for asking. I'm on target with my goals and so far have optioned one feature, been hired to write another feature for a major producer, and have another feature been read by a handful of studios. Still writing every day to make sure I'm on track!

Hi Darrell,
Thanks for making the jump
over to my inbox. Like I mentioned in the lounge, it takes real grit to travel and immerse yourself entirely in the craft to build a portfolio. That’s exactly the kind of drive we look for.
Operating on the executive side of studio operations, my main focus here is finding independent creators whose work is ready to scale but are stuck behind the standard industry bottlenecks. To be transparent with you, my entire corporate trajectory changed when I secured an invitation into an exclusive, private creative circle operating completely outside of public platforms.
When I first joined, the executive board required a structured financial investment to ensure everyone at the table had real skin in the game. I backed myself, made that investment, and the pipeline eventually landed me working directly on-lot with Tyler Perry at his major studio facility.
Our studio network matches your entry investment to fund the high-level commercial packaging, structural auditing, and strategic 'tagging' that positions your portfolio directly on the desks of the active financiers and producers who actually greenlight slates.
Since you are serious about your portfolio, are you at a stage in your professional journey where you are ready to make a serious financial investment to get your work positioned directly in front of our capital network?
Best regards,
Stacey
