Hello! Today, I’d like to share my experience with everyone. I’ve been working on films for 4 years now. My work spans a variety of areas, including prosthetics and background character creation, with a particular focus on horror themes such as blood, gore, and other unsettling effects.
My journey has come a long way. I started with little to no knowledge of makeup, teaching myself the techniques and tricks I now use in my work. After high school, I knew I needed to advance my skills, so I researched colleges and ultimately found Douglas Education Center, which offers a dedicated special effects program. As soon as I discovered it, I knew it was the perfect fit for me.
Upon completing my education, I chose to pursue a career in the film industry. I am actively seeking opportunities with film productions that require makeup artists. What sets my work apart is my ability to think creatively, often finding ways to execute projects without resorting to expensive materials unless absolutely necessary. I believe art should be a reflection of individual creativity and innovation.
Feedback on my work has been overwhelmingly positive—people often comment that my prosthetics are seamless, with edges that are virtually undetectable. Some even describe my creations as grotesque, which I consider a compliment, as it speaks to the effectiveness of my horror-themed designs.
