Hello everyone!
My name is Tory McCaffrey and I just joined. I'm a creator, writer, and aspiring director, writing both novels and screenplays (I always write the book before the screenplay).
I've finished a project called Apocalypse Meow, a story centered around a clowder of cats that are surviving in a post-apocalyptic world overrun by undead humans called Shells and eldritch monstrosities known as Slugs. The cats must navigate a gauntlet of urban ruin and decay while battling the harsh acid rain and barrage of death. On its surface, Apocalypse Meow is an action horror story, but in actuality dives into moral themes of survival and the corruption and death of innocence in a hopeless world. It's about reclaiming what was lost, and the strength to carry on against all odds. At its core, it delves into the power of storytelling to cope with trauma, as the meta-narrative unravels through the voice of an eight-year-old boy left alone to survive in this cruel environment and giving a voice and mythology to the felines who helped him to rediscover love.
The sequel, "All Those Years Ago," is nearly complete.
I'm currently searching for representation and a producer who is interested in adult animation.
I've created an ai-assisted (the final product will be handled by an animation studio) proof of concept trailer that you can see here. The song is "Safe and Sound" by JR Richards, the original singer of Dishwalla. He's expressed interest in composing the score should it get picked up. His music will function as the heart of this story.
I look forward to meeting all of you and discovering all of your voices! All the best to each and every one of you.
