Hi everyone!
As I'm refining my latest feature script (Between Lights and Shadows), I've been thinking a lot about the balance between high-stakes suspense and genuine romantic tension.
When dealing with two lead characters from drastically different worlds—one under constant public scrutiny and the other off-the-grid—the challenge is making their emotional connection feel earned despite the fast-paced plot.
For the screenwriters and producers here: What’s your favorite technique for keeping character dynamics grounded while maintaining a high-stakes thriller pace?
Would love to hear your insights and connect with fellow creators working on character-driven dramas!
Using a lot of unpredictable push pull emotions happy to elaborate :)
