I've been writing all those complex plots with detailed characterizations; adhering to formatting; detailed background stories...... not needed!!!! Burp out some short story and that's enough!!! . That's my problem... too much writing! Forcing some poor busy executive to read something! Poor babies are so busy- no wonder they hire readers.... just don't have time..... okay, I get it. Well he's already a highly reputable writer so that helps! But yeah, I get what you're saying. Blood, sweat and tears...literally and he writes 5 pages and bam! Sold. Must be really good.
I figured.... like when Micheal Crichton wrote the idea for Jurassic Park on a napkin and handed it to Steve Spielberg... and got a ga-zillion smolians! Legend! Actually it's not much different than getting an okay from a pitch or log line.... but still......
