Your Stage : The future of film festivals by Hazel Dean

I'm currently making a feature and found this great article over at indiewire. http://www.indiewire.com/article/fair-trade-for-filmmakers-is-it-time-fo... On the heels of just getting rejected from SXSW for my latest short, I'm wondering if there are other avenues besides festivals to explore with my feature when it is finished. I just want to get it seen. In the age of VOD should I be putting more effort into trying to get my film out there, vs getting it into festivals?
