Marketing yourself online

Its all in the Marketing. When I came into this business just 6 months ago, I knew within my heart that I would get work. You see im a hustler. I wont stop until the work is done. I have had to hustle my way through most of my life. When I came into acting, I thought its best to use my old skills. Knock every door and dont stop knocking. also my acting coach told me the same thing too. Anyway, I have not stopped marketing myself in all corners. I dont wait for my agent, she has enough to deal with. Im my own brand, im my own business. Im continuously online and I apply for every job that I think suits me, I tweet, I facebook you name it, I do it. Well I must say It has paid off. In 6 months I have done, 3 student films, 2 short films, 2 feature films and im now filming an 8 episode TV Drama Series in Slovakia, where I am in all the episodes. Im not saying this to show off, but to encourage those of you out there who are newbies like myself to not give up. Keep knocking. Some people put it down to all sorts of reasons why they dont get work. Im black, female and im middle age its been a bonus for me! Please like my page and see what it is I get up to. Angela, My story is very similar. I worked in social services/healthcare administration for 20+ years. After getting laid off from the "Unemployment Office" (NOT KIDDING) 5 months ago, I decided to pursue my dream to be a full time actress. I am 47. Because of my networking and persistence, I have done 2 short films, a sizzle reel, 3 episodes of Chicago Fire, and am producing a full length feature and will shoot another full length feature this summer. I am waiting on about 7 more irons in my fire as well. I am working on modeling for some print ads as well. I love this industry and the fact that I am essentially my own boss. Hello Julian, I have just read your profile. I have visited Uganda over 14 times as my husband is Ugandan. Its one of the many countries I wish to work in. Maybe one day aye.
