Getting Investors for Feature Film?

I'm aware of kickstarter.com where you ask people you know to help fund your project and hope they tell enough people that they know so you can raise the money needed. I don't think I know enough people to raise the kind of money needed to make a feature film. So my question is what are some other ways to raise feature film money? What are some incentives for investors? The ones that I am aware of are credits, opening credits, and percentage of any profits from DVD sales, Netflix, Amazon unbox, and possibly overseas sales. - Thanks Steven Schellinger

Great question. The dilemma film makers face when trying to get their films made. I guess it deeds on the subject matter. It the material covers a particular issue, for example, Road Rage or Teenage drug abuse. Then it may be useful to contact authority bodies, organisations and individuals with money have a vested interest in the same material your film covers. If some them don't have the money you could always ask if they would be happy to contribute to film "in kind". You need to be very resourceful and lateral in your approach when it comes to financing a film. The other issue is the consideration of how much do you project the film will make once it hits the screen. Who is your audience? How's my people do you believe will want to see your film? Thanks for posting this great question.
